About S.T.A.M.P.

WHAT IS STAMP LONG ISLAND?

Syncopate To Authenticate Music Project is a company created to allow tap dancers across Long Island to continue to grow as artists and to share and honor the great traditions tap dance brings. The company has created Long Island’s first Tap Festival that aims to bring more awareness to the art form by inspiring the next generation of dancers. The vision for this festival is to provide a “home” for tap dance that enables people to explore and share tap dance as a progressive art form as well as preserve its roots and history through performance. We aspire to give tap dancers easy access to knowledge of this art form through the unique perspectives of top tier tap dancers continuing to pioneer the art form, footage, music classes and repertoire.

Mission:

Our mission is to preserve and honor Tap Dance through creation, education and presentation.

Erin is currently an Artist in Residence at American Tap Dance Foundation with the company, ACM Collective. She is also understudying for Project Convergence. Erin has studied with numerous artists, some of which include, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Anthony Morigerato, Mark Albrecht, Justin Boccitto, and many more. Erin has also had the opportunity to perform and choreograph solo as well collaborate with other artists at a variety of venues such as the Schomburg Center, Kaye Playhouse, Hudson Guild Theater, Symphony Space, and others.

“Throughout the years, I have noticed a lack of awareness that surrounds Tap Dance, specifically on Long Island. I would always travel to other cities and states to participate in Tap Festivals in order to meet new people who share the same love and passion for Tap Dance. Working at various dance studios on Long Island, I felt like it was time to spread the joy of Tap Dance to more of Long Island.

My goal with S.T.A.M.P. Long Island is to create a community that will inspire dancers to respect and honor Tap Dance the way it was meant to be.”
